The beauty in noise

You can’t avoid to see the rustic and pretty much torn art-workshop in Spanien 19B in the middle of Aarhus’ new constructions of Jyllands Posten and Danske Bank. “The House” is filled with a resounding but calming sound that you can feel right into your bones. Christian Windfeld throws his hands over the greenish bronze waterbowl as if he has never done anything else, it’s fascinating to see how the waters move like soundwave.

It is obvious to see where he spent his many hours after school as young, experimenting with different sounds. It seems quite natural to see a bow of a violin playing on the drum, with other components placed between his legs, even though they are contrasts in the world of music. It’s barely the music we’re used to hear in the radio or when the symphony orchestra is playing but more like noises from a highway. But even when Christian Windfeld stretches the bow over the edge of the drum, a beautiful sound from the bow fills out the noise.

The expression in his face and his calm body is not to be mistaken it looks like the music is telling a story through him and realizing the music in a visual format which is completely unique. Just like the sound from the chinese water bowl also called
A Piece of Happiness.

To be able to talk through music in a way where regular people is able to understand or convey, is a talent in itself. It requires some courage to throw all his soul into his music and put his ego aside. One thing is for sure Christian Windfeld is an artist to be experienced if you want to explore new sides of you.
